About Bob Keenan
I am currently a microstock photographer. But I have been a USAF B-52 Pilot, Rocket Test Engineer, Rocket Program Manager, and Propulsion Business Manager. I did all that while being a father to two great daughters and husband to the best wife you could hope for.
I am now retired and consider myself a Semi-Professional Photographer. In other words, I sell work but never let it become, well, work — after all, I am retired.
I have had a camera in my hands for 55 years. I started with film and moved to digital in the early 2000s. My gear includes Canon DSLRs — the Rebel XS, 50D, 7D, and 5D Mark II and III — along with L-class lenses. I shoot a wide range of subjects: nature, urban scenes, food, abstracts, animals, rural and suburban life, and HDR imagery.
My images are available as prints, framed prints, and canvas through Zenfolio, and as royalty-free microstock on Shutterstock, Istockphoto, and Dreamstime.
My journey through photography has always been about discovering beauty in the unexpected — whether it is the subtle geometry of an urban streetscape, the quiet stillness of a rural landscape, or the intricate textures found in nature and even food. Over fifty-five years behind the lens have taught me that light and patience reveal what others might overlook. I approach each image with the same curiosity that once guided me through careers in aviation and engineering, seeking composition and clarity without rushing the process. This philosophy carries into every gallery I build, from abstract studies to dynamic range explorations, always honoring the uncropped moment as it was captured.
